The Union Cabinet has raised minimum support prices for all six mandated rabi crops for marketing season 2027-28. Wheat goes up by Rs 25 to Rs 2,610 per quintal; safflower rises by Rs 675.

Monsoon 2026 ends at 87% of normal, weakest since 2015; IMD sees below-normal October rain
India received 759.4 mm of rain in the June–September 2026 monsoon, 87% of the long period average, the IMD said. It expects below-normal October rain in most areas but normal northeast monsoon rain in the south.
