PM-KISAN: 23rd instalment paid in June; date for 24th instalment not yet announced

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 23rd instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) on 20 June 2026 at Tarakeswar in Hooghly district, West Bengal. About Rs 18,880 crore was transferred directly to around 9.44 crore farmers, including more than 2.18 crore women farmers.
According to the government, more than Rs 4.46 lakh crore has been paid to farmer families through 23 instalments since the scheme began.
What about the 24th instalment?
As of 2 October 2026, the Centre has not announced a release date for the 24th instalment. Instalments are paid three times a year, so farmers should keep their records ready and watch official announcements rather than social media claims.
Scheme basics
- Eligible landholding farmer families get Rs 6,000 a year in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000.
- Money is paid by Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts.
- e-KYC is mandatory. Without it, the instalment may not be credited.
How to check your status
- Go to pmkisan.gov.in.
- In the Farmers Corner, choose Know Your Status.
- Enter your registration number and the captcha, then click Get Data.
- If you do not know your registration number, use Know Your Registration No. with your Aadhaar or registered mobile number and an OTP.
Common reasons for a missed payment
- e-KYC not completed
- Bank account not linked to Aadhaar or not enabled for DBT
- Land records not verified by the state
- Mismatch in name or Aadhaar details
