SSC CHSL 2026: 2,536 Group C posts for Class 12 pass, apply by 7 October

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has invited online applications for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2026, commonly known as SSC CHSL. About 2,536 tentative vacancies are on offer for Group C posts in central government ministries and offices.

Posts and pay

• Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC) / Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Pay Level 2 (Rs 19,900 – 63,200)
• Data Entry Operator (DEO): Pay Level 4 or 5, depending on the post
• Data Entry Operator Grade A: Pay Level 4

Eligibility basics

• Education: Class 12 or equivalent. Some DEO posts require Class 12 in Science with Mathematics.
• Age: 18 to 27 years as on 1 August 2026 (born between 2 August 1999 and 1 August 2008).
• Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC and 10 years for PwBD candidates, as per rules.

Application fee

The fee is Rs 100. Women, SC, ST, PwBD and eligible ex-servicemen candidates are exempt.

How to apply

• Visit ssc.gov.in or use the mySSC mobile app.
• Complete one-time registration if you have not done so already.
• Fill in the CHSL 2026 form, upload your photograph and signature, and pay the fee.
• Download and keep a copy of the submitted form.

Selected LDC/JSA candidates also have to clear a typing test, so regular typing practice is useful. Always confirm details on the official website before applying.
