CBSE Board Exams 2027: schools must submit LOC by 21 October; late fee window till 30 October

CBSE has opened List of Candidates (LOC) submission for Class 10 and 12 board exams 2027. The regular window runs 24 September to 21 October 2026, with a Rs 2,000 late fee per candidate till 30 October.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started the List of Candidates (LOC) process for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations of 2027. The LOC is how affiliated schools register their students for the board exams, so a student who is not on it cannot sit the exam.

The late fee is Rs 2,000 per candidate. According to reports on the CBSE circular, no corrections will be allowed after the November correction window closes.

Examination fees for schools in India

  • Five subjects: Rs 1,600 per candidate (Class 10 and Class 12)
  • Each additional subject: Rs 320
  • Practical subject: Rs 160 per subject
  • Visually impaired candidates are exempt from examination fees

Higher fees apply for schools in Nepal and other countries.

Two board exams for Class 10

Under CBSE's two-examination system for Class 10, the first board examination is compulsory for all students, and the LOC for it must be submitted now. The LOC for the second examination will be submitted separately after the first exam.

What parents and students should check

  • Ask your school to show the LOC data before it is finalised.
  • Check the spelling of your name, your parents' names, your date of birth and subject codes.
  • CBSE has said requests to change subjects after LOC submission will not be accepted.
  • Private candidates are handled through a separate process announced by CBSE.
